Deep Fried Turkey
It could be the greatest cooking idea ever!
All you have to do is buy a turkey, let it defrost, season it, and then cook it in a vat of hot oil at 3 1/2 - 4 min/lb. There is, of course, a bit more to it than that, but cooking the turkey is straightforward.
One would think that such a dish would be drenched in oil, but instead, it is a moist poultry dish. The meat does not soak in the oil, and the skin of the bird helps the juices to stay in the turkey, and keep the oil out.
If you have not tried one yet, I highly recommend that you do. Once you go fried, you can never go back.

I have not heard of anyone stuffing the turkey before they put it in the deep fryer. I would suspect, as you have already pointed out, that it would be saturated in grease and could affect the cooking time of the turkey.
I would suggest that you cook the stuffing separately - not the best option, but it would still be better than a grease-soaked alternative.
It's not stated on my post, but don't forget to season the turkey well - because it is deep-fried, dry rubs are best.
Good luck!

No you cannot stuff the bird for deepfrying. The cavity needs to be empty so the oil can freely flow thru it. I take the neck of the turkey out of it, and put it on top of my dressing while it cooks in the oven... this gives it a turkey roasted taste... you can eat the neck after if you like, however we prefer to throw it out.
Hope this helps.
